1. Acceptance and scope
By accessing or using FemRes, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account, submit a form, or use community features. FemRes is not directed to children under 13. Users below the age of legal majority where they live should use the service with a parent or guardian’s permission.
2. The current service
FemRes is an editorially curated feminist resource and knowledge platform. It provides indexes of books, films, articles, videos, podcasts, and papers; editorial introductions; topic relationships; search; and multilingual reading. Registered users can save and like works, comment, report comments, and manage their accounts. Anyone can subscribe to the newsletter, contact the editors, or suggest a resource.
The current service does not provide AI-personalized recommendations, AI moderation, or direct user publishing of resources. Contributions do not appear automatically; they enter editorial review. Features may change as the project develops, and material changes in data processing will first be reflected in the Privacy Policy.
3. Accounts
Registration information must be accurate and must not impersonate another person. You are responsible for protecting your password and devices and for activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorized use, contact security@femres.org promptly.
You can change your username or permanently delete your account from your reader profile. We may restrict or disable an account when we reasonably believe it is being used for abuse, unlawful activity, or a serious breach of these Terms, and will explain the reason where practicable.
4. Comments and community conduct
Comments are public. Post only material you have the right to share and avoid disclosing unnecessary personal information about yourself or anyone else. You must not post or engage in:
- hate, discrimination, threats, harassment, stalking, or incitement to violence;
- spam, fraud, malicious marketing, or misleading impersonation;
- material that violates privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- viruses or malicious code, or attempts to bypass authentication, rate limits, or access controls; or
- unlawful content or use of the platform to harm another person.
Users can delete their own comments and report comments by others. FemRes may conduct human review after a report or discovery of a problem, hide or delete violating material, and retain limited records where needed for safety or legal handling. We do not guarantee a particular outcome for every report.
5. Contact and contributions
Contact and contribution forms are delivered to FemRes by Formspree; the Privacy Policy explains the data flow. Submitters must ensure information is accurate and relevant and that they have the right to share the text and links provided. Do not use the forms for sensitive personal data, confidential material, spam, or unauthorized full copies of works.
Resource suggestions are for editorial evaluation and do not guarantee a reply or publication. You retain rights in your original writing. For original text expressly submitted for FemRes publication, you grant FemRes a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to edit its format, translate, display, and distribute it on the platform. Recommending a third-party work does not grant FemRes rights in that work. To withdraw an unpublished submission, contact submissions@femres.org.
6. FemRes and third-party content
Rights in books, films, articles, programs, papers, and other third-party works remain with their respective owners. FemRes provides bibliographic information, links, and independent editorial commentary; it does not provide ownership of or a license to the external works. Quotations and commentary must be understood under applicable law, not as a blanket guarantee of “fair use” for every use.
Editorial writing, visual design, and branding created by FemRes are protected under applicable intellectual-property rules. The presence of code or content in a public repository does not automatically grant a license beyond any notice expressly included with the repository files.
7. External services, embeds, and support
External links, media players, Formspree forms, and third-party support pages are operated by their respective services. Their content, availability, payments, and data practices are governed by third-party terms. FemRes does not directly process support payments or card information. Before leaving FemRes or loading embedded content, decide whether you accept the third party’s rules.
8. Service and information disclaimer
FemRes is provided as is and as available. We work to verify metadata and editorial content but do not promise that every item will always be complete, accurate, current, or linked to an available external page. FemRes is an educational and cultural resource, not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. For important decisions, consult primary sources and a qualified professional.
9. Limits of responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, FemRes is not responsible for third-party content or services, external links, temporary interruptions, loss of material, or indirect or consequential loss caused by reliance on information on the site. These Terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limit mandatory consumer rights.
10. Changes and ending the service
We may change, suspend, or end parts of the service for security, maintenance, or product reasons. Material changes to these Terms will update the date and, where practicable, be announced on the website. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree, you may stop using the service and delete your account.
