Mingus は、障害者が基本的なアクセスを得るために身体、ニーズ、病歴、脆弱性を開示させられる構造的経験を名づける。ミア・ミンガスのいう「強制された親密性」とは、障害者がアクセス、支援、信頼、さらには生存に必要な条件を得るため、診断、痛み、身体機能、トラウマ、私的なニーズを他者や制度に明かさざるをえない状態を指す。
